Diagonal Grooves In Revit Tutorial

Hello and Welcome to our HomeCAD 3D
In this Revit Tutorial blog post we will be teaching you how to create diagonal grooves in Revit architecture using the Void Extrusion command

The groove which we are going to create is over our front wall as shown in the above image

Steps for creating diagonal grooves

Go to Component and from the drop-down menu select Model in Place Option

Select the casework category from the dialogue box then click on ok. Provide name – diagonal groove

next, you need to select the Void Extrusion command from the forms panel

Now you need to select the plane on which you want to create your sketch for the diagonal grooves

after selecting the plane click on the show button available beside the set button to check whether the plane is set properly or not

then you need to create your sketch as per the requirements. Note: the sketch should be closed and should not have any intersecting lines or overlapping lines

Once you have created the sketch click on the green tick to finish the sketch

now from the property panel set the cutting depth of void say 1inches

you would be able to see the groove in orange color, next you need to select the cut command and select the groove first and second the object in which you want to create your grooves

now simply click in the finish(green tick) and your groove is created.
